Specifies an experimental method for evaluation of the intelligibility of synthetic speech, in English, generated by text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis systems. It is intended to be used by developers of applications that incorporate TTS technology, such as e-mail and SMS readers, talking kiosks, e-learning systems, navigation systems, automated messaging services, screen readers for people who are blind, and assistive devices for people who have difficulty speaking
