This package includes American National Standards which define energy efficiency metrics, measurement techniques and new technologies as well as operational practices for telecommunications components, systems and facilities. Additionally, these standards which introduce the Telecommunications Energy Efficiency Ratio (TEER), provide a comprehensive methodology for measuring and reporting energy consumption, and uniformly quantify a network component's ratio of "work performed" to energy consumed.
