Quality management systems - Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001:2008 to crop production (ISO 22006:2009)

This standard provide assistance for the adoption of ISO 9001:2009 in agriculture. It specifies the requirements for a quality management system according to ISO 9001 to crop production processes on farms. Guidance given in this International Standard is relevant to both large and small farms and provides a framework for good management practices.*This standard contains a guideline to assist crop-producing farm operations in the application of ISO 9001. It serves to support producers during establishment of a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 for crop production processes, such as planning process, planting process, harvest process. The standard is based on ISO 9001 and provides help for implementation of the respective requirements in farm operations. Implementation of ISO 9001 in a farm operation aims at improvement of performance, cost reduction, improvement of customer confidence and satisfaction. Examples for the various processes are given in Annex A. Moreover, informative Annex B gives the cross references between the individual clauses of standard ISO 22000 specifying the requirements for food safety management systems, and standard ISO 22006. Annex C gives the cross references between ISO 14001 and ISO 22006. The International Standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 34/WG 12 "Application of ISO 9001:2008 in the agriculture" (secretariat: ANSI, USA). The collaboration of DIN is performed through Working Committee NA 057-02-02 AA "Lebensmittelsicherheit - Management-Systeme" ("Food safety management systems") (Working Group NA 057-02-02-02 AK "Managementsysteme für die Landwirtschaft" ("Management systems for agriculture")) of NAL.
