NFPA 140-2008

NFPA 140: Standard on Motion Picture and Television Production Studio Soundstages, Approved Production Facilities, and Production Locations, 2008 Edition

NFPA 140 works behind the scenes to ensure fire safety on soundstages and on location!
Newly expanded to address on-site production locations as well as soundstages and approved production facilities, the 2008 edition of NFPA 140: Motion Picture and Television Production Studio Soundstages, Approved Production Facilities, and Production Locations provides complete safety requirements for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of facilities used in motion picture and television industry productions.
NFPA 140 references the NEC®, NFPA 101®: Life Safety Code®, and NFPA 13: Installation of Sprinkler Systems, along with other vital documents.
Provisions blend daily operational needs with the latest principles of fire protection, property protection, and life safety. The 2008 edition is reformatted to clearly define which provisions apply to studio soundstages and approved production facilities, and which requirements apply to production locations (i.e. "filming on location"). It's a must for set designers, architects, engineers, maintenance professionals, and AHJs charged with ensuring safety. NFPA 140 does not apply to theaters, auditoriums, radio broadcast locations, or post-production facilities. (Softbound, Approx. 12 pp., 2008)
