Pumps used for Wastewater

Standards for wastewater structures deal with physical structural components, such as supports, pipes, pumps, and gates, setting out to promote the use of interoperable and reliable parts within a larger system. While these standards focus on the physical elements that contain and guide the wastewater, rather than the wastewater itself, they nevertheless remain an important part of the standardization effort for wastewater management.

ISO 21630:2007

Pumps - Testing - Submersible mixers for wastewater and similar applications

ISO 21630:2007 prescribes acceptance test methods for submersible mixers used for mixing in wastewater and other applications where at least one system component is a liquid. Submersible mixer is taken to mean a fully submersible aggregate consisting of a drive unit and an axial flow type impeller, and optional parts, such as shrouds, supporting the basic functions. Liquid is taken to mean a body without capacity to accommodate shear stresses when at rest. This includes suspensions and dispersions (liquid/solid, gas/liquid and gas/liquid/solid), and non-Newtonian liquids, provided that a possible small yield stress does not prevent the liquid from flowing when agitated.

ANSI/HI 5.1-5.6-2016

SeallessáRotodynamic Pumps for Nomenclature, Definitions, Application, Operation, and Test

This standard covers types and nomenclature, definitions, design and application, installation, operation and maintenance, and test of sealless rotodynamic pumps driven by canned motors or magnetic couplings. Not included are submersible wastewater pumps that do not have external shaft seals and are therefore not susceptible to external shaft leakage. Deep well submersible pumps are also excluded.
