This book fills a much needed gap in the literature of ventilation engineering. There have been many volumes published concerning fan types, similarity rules, ducting system calculations and design, applicational problems, etc. At the same time, there has been a paucity of published information on the acoustics and noise control associated with these fans and their systems. Many engineers are wary of entering this "black art," as it is perceived by the non-acoustician.
