STANDARD FOR CLASSIFICATION OF TOXIC GAS MIXTURES FOURTH EDITION

This standard applies to all users, transporters, and manufacturers affected by label requirements and ad-dresses classifications for gas mixtures that contain a toxic component(s). This standard categorizes gas mixtures under the transportation regulations by establishing a measurement criterion based on LC50 RAT values. The resultant criterion is the basis for a method to calculate gas mixture toxicity. 2.2 Purpose The purpose of this standard is to establish a means to classify toxic gas mixtures based on acute toxicity.
