Holiday Detection of Fusion-Bonded Epoxy External Pipeline Coatings of 250 to 760 μm (10 to 30 mil) (Reaffirmed)


This standard practice presents techniques in the operation of holiday detector equipment currently used on fusion-bonded epoxy pipeline coatings following shop application of the coating and prior to on-site installation of the coated pipeline. Also presented is a table detailing recommended voltages for various coating thicknesses, as well as guidance for testing voltages, grounding, condition of coating surfaces, and care of equipment.
