ONORM EN ISO 24550:2020

Ergonomics - Accessible design - Indicator lights on consumer products (ISO 24550:2019)

This International Standard sets out a guide to the design of indicator lights, mostly with LED light sources, of consumer goods for use by the elderly and people with visual impairments. The needs of blind people are not taken into account in this standard. Indicator lights include lights that visually inform users of states, changes in function status and settings, and product malfunctions. They convey information through their illumination or extinction, a temporal modulation of their luminous intensity, their flashing, their colour, by different luminances and by their arrangement. This document refers to appliances for domestic use. It does not apply to machinery, equipment or electronic display equipment for displaying signs and graphics specifically used in professional, technical and industrial applications.
