This part of IEC 60335 specifies safety requirements for electrically operated commercial refrigerators / freezers which have a built-in motor compressor or which are supplied in two units for assembly in accordance with the instructions for use as a single unit (split system). This standard applies to commercial refrigerators / freezers used for the distribution of food, including beverages, in retail sale. It is not concerned with the design and function of refrigerators / freezers, covered by ISO standards. Products within the scope of this standard do not pose a risk to noise; therefore, no specific rules on noise are given.
