ANSI/ASHRAE 62.1-2019

Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality

Specifies minimum ventilation rates and other measures intended to provide indoor air quality (IAQ) that is acceptable to human occupants and that minimizes adverse health effects. Intended for regulatory application to new buildings, additions to existing buildings, and those changes to existing buildings that are identified in the body of the standard. Intended to be used to guide the improvement of IAQ in existing buildings. Applies to spaces intended for human occupancy within buildings except those within dwelling units in residential occupancies in which occupants are nontransient. Defines requirements for ventilation and air-cleaning-system design, installation, commissioning, and operation and maintenance. Dual units of measurement.


ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 110-2016

Methods of Testing Performance of Laboratory Fume Hoods

This method of testing applies to conventional, bypass, auxiliary air, and variable-air-volume (VAV) laboratory fume hoods. This standard is intended primarily for laboratory and factory testing but may be used as an aid in evaluating installed performance as well.


ANSI/ASHRAE/ASHE 170-2021

Ventilation of Health Care Facilities

Defines ventilation system design requirements that provide environmental control in health care facilities. Applies to patient care areas, resident care areas, related support areas within health care facilities, new buildings, additions to existing buildings, and those alterations to existing buildings that are identified within this standard. Establishes design requirements for temperature and humidity, design requirements for odor control and asepsis, and design requirements for ventilation rates, including, but not limited to, outdoor air to serve health care facilities. ANSI/ASHRAE 55-2020

Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy

Specifies conditions for acceptable thermal environments and is intended for use in design, operation, and commissioning of buildings and other occupied spaces. The core of the standard specifies methods to determine thermal environmental conditions in buildings and other spaces that a significant proportion of the occupants will find acceptable at a certain metabolic rate and clothing level. A comprehensive analytical method to determine these conditions, and the calculation algorithms used, are included


ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188-2021

Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems

Provides minimum legionellosis risk management requirements for the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, and expansion of new and existing buildings and their associated (potable and nonpotable) water systems and components. Applies to human-occupied commercial, institutional, multiunit residential, and industrial buildings. This standard does not include single-family residential buildings. Only where specifically noted in this standard shall certain building water systems or parts of building water systems be exempt. standard is intended for use by owners and managers of human-occupied buildings, excluding single-family residential buildings. This standard is also intended for those involved in the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and service of centralized building water systems and components. ANSI/ASHRAE/IES 90.1-2019

Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings

Establishes the minimum energy efficiency requirements of buildings other than low-rise residential buildings for a) design, construction, and a plan for operation and maintenance; and b) utilization of on-site, renewable energy resources. Provides a) minimum energy-efficient requirements for the design and construction, and a plan for operation and maintenance of: (1) new buildings and their systems; (2) new portions of buildings and their systems; (3) new systems and equipment in existing buildings; and (4) new equipment or building systems specifically identified in the standard that are part of industrial or manufacturing processes and b) criteria for determining compliance with these requirements. The Commissioning Process

Describes a Commissioning Process (Cx) capable of verifying that the facility and its systems meet the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). The procedures, methods, and documentation requirements in this guideline describe each phase of the project delivery and the associated Commissioning Processes from predesign through occupancy and operation, without regard to specific elements, assemblies, or systems. ANSI/ASHRAE 185.1-2020

Method of Testing UV-C Lights for Use in Air-Handling Units or Air Ducts to Inactivate Airborne Microorganisms

Establishes a test method for evaluating the efficacy of UV-C lights for their ability to inactivate airborne microorganisms. The method of test measures the performance of UV-C lights to inactivate selected indicator microorganisms in the airstream. Defines procedures for generating the bioaerosols required for conducting the test. It also provides a method for counting the airborne bioaerosols upstream and downstream of the UV-C light in order to calculate inactivation efficiency for each microorganism. Establishes performance specifications for the equipment required to conduct the tests, defines methods of calculating and reporting results obtained from the test data, and establishes a reporting system to be applied to UV-C lights covered herein. ANSI/ASHRAE 62.2-2019

Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Residential Buildings

Defines the roles of and minimum requirements for mechanical and natural ventilation systems and the building envelope intended to provide acceptable indoor air quality (IAQ) in low-rise residential buildings. Applies to dwelling units in residential occupancies in which the occupants are nontransient. Considers chemical , physical, and biological contaminants that can affect air quality. Dual units of measurement.
