(ISC)2 Appoints Dr. Casey Marks as Chief Product Officer

23-year testing industry professional and psychometrician responsible for evolving industry-leading cybersecurity certification testing

CLEARWATER, Fla., Jan. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- (ISC)2 – the world's largest nonprofit membership association of certified cybersecurity professionals – today announced the appointment of Dr. Casey Marks as Chief Product Officer and Vice President. In this role, Dr. Marks will help to guide the (ISC)product vision, strategy, design, development and delivery and will serve as the lead executive developing psychometrically sound and legally defensible information security certifications that advance the mission and vision of (ISC)². 

Dr. Marks has served for four years as Vice President of the Professional Programs Office at (ISC)2, overseeing the Corporate Communications, Education, Examinations and Member Services teams. He will continue in this role in addition to his new responsibilities. Based in Clearwater, FL, Dr. Marks will report to (ISC)2 Chief Operating Officer, Wesley Simpson.

Prior to his role with (ISC)2, Dr. Marks served as the CEO of Cambridge Michigan Language Assessments which helped educational, governmental and private-sector institutions meet their language-assessment needs.

With more than two decades of experience in large-scale assessment, Dr. Marks has published and presented extensively. He is recognized as an expert on issues related to adoption and vendor transition of Computer-Based-Testing for high-stakes, large-scale testing programs, international program expansion and examination security.

Dr. Marks has a long history of involvement and volunteer service with testing-related organizations such as:

  • American Education Research Association (AERA)
  • American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
  • Council on Licensure, Education, and Regulation (CLEAR)
  • Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE)
  • International Test Commission (ITC)
  • The National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME)

Dr. Marks served as an invited expert for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Working Group for the Revision of ISO/IEC 17024 and is a past president of the Association of Test Publishers (ATP). 

Dr. Marks holds a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois and a Ph.D. in Measurement, Evaluation and Statistical Analysis from the University of Chicago. He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE).
