ANSI Stakeholder Feedback: Respond to Department of Transportation Guidance

2/06/2019
Submit Feedback by April 8, 2019

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages its organizational members and all relevant stakeholders to submit feedback by April 8, 2019, to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) Task Force's request to review DoT guidance documents, which serve to clarify pertinent statutory and regulatory requirements, assist with statutory and regulatory compliance, and communicate the DoT's position on an issue.

As the DoT regulates safety in aviation, motor carrier, railroad, motor vehicle, commercial space, transit, and pipeline transportation areasin addition to other consumer and economic issuesANSI stakeholders are encouraged to submit feedback as an opportunity to demonstrate the value of standards in DoT guidance.

The DoT encourages written input on its guidance documents that:
Are no longer necessary;
Spur cost-inducing action by the regulated entities;
Are inconsistent and/or unclear;
May not be conducive to uniform or consistent enforcement; or
Need to be updated to reflect developments that have taken place since the guidance was issued.

For more information go to www.regulations.gov and follow the online instructions for submitting comments, or see the DoT's Notice of Review of Guidance.
