BlindsChalet.com Announces Product Changes and Closeouts to Comply with New Industry Standards

PHOENIX, Nov. 15, 2018
New cordless window treatment products are also launched.

PHOENIX, Nov. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- BlindsChalet.com, America's Foremost Window Covering Experts, announces changes to its product lines in order to comply with the Window Covering Manufacturer's Association industry standards. These standards have been changed with the aim of eliminating the risks for strangulation to small children due to features of certain window coverings. These changes focus on the operating cords of a window treatment that haven't been changed in a very long time.

This new Window Covering Manufacturer's Association industry standard is referred to as ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2018 for corded window coverings. This new standard came through their work with the Consumer Products Safety Commission. It states that products manufactured in advance that need to be cut to customer requirements (meaning the width and/or height) are considered stock and limited to cordless only. If the product is ordered to a specific width and height and will not require size adjustments, it is considered custom.

This means Blinds Chalet will be replacing all stock corded window treatment products with stock cordless window treatment products. These changes will be made effective December 7th, 2018. Due to this change, Blinds Chalet will be marking their stock corded window treatment products as closeout items and reducing their cost to deplete inventories. Products on their site with a closeout banner are a part of this change. Blinds Chalet has also created a page on their site of just their closeout window treatment products. These products can be found at https://www.blindschalet.com/closeout/

These industry changes will have some effect on Blinds Chalet's custom products as well. The default cord lengths will now be set to operate at 1/3 the finished blind/shade height. Blinds Chalet understands that some customers in the commercial and industrial markets need longer cord lengths. This is why customers will be given the option to change this cord length when building their order at blindschalet.com. All custom blinds and shades will now come standard with a wand tilt instead of a cord tilt. Cord tilt will still be an available option when building out your order. There will also be new size limits due to these new cord lengths. Cord release devices will come with each product that is ordered with a cord length longer then 1/3 of the blind. This will reduce the risk of strangulations when longer cord length is needed. Cord cleats will also be included in order to secure cords and preventing them from hanging free.

The warning labels and tags that come attached to each product Blinds Chalet sells has been revised and updated to reflect these changes. Merchandising labels have also been updated.
