SAE Webinar to Address the Future of the Automotive Ecosystem
SAE International, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has announced a free webcast on the automotive ecosystem's trajectory in the coming years.
"The Automotive Ecosystem: What's Driving the Next Five Years" will discuss the challenges and opportunities that will arise for industries. Experts will discuss technologies and trends that are making the biggest impact, realistic capabilities of automated cars in the next five years, and the industry's role in setting consumer expectations for automated vehicles, among other topics.

UL Posts On-Demand Webinar on Horticultural Lighting and Requirements
Underwriters Laboratories (UL), an ANSI member and audited designator, has posted a free, pre-recorded webinar on horticultural lighting and its related standards.
The webinar outlines the function of horticultural lighting in controlled environment agricultural operations, and the safety and performance requirements applicable to these lightings and systems. Listeners will also hear about the relevant UL standard on horticultural lighting equipment, and how it compares to the UL standard for luminaries.

ATIS Publishes Report on Use of Drones in Disaster Recovery Operations
The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has released a report outlining how unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, can help to restore communications after a disaster.
Use of UAVs for Restoring Communications in an Emergency Situation relays how UAVs can carry telecommunications equipment, serving as "flying cell sites" that can be deployed quickly for temporary coverage until more permanent solutions are available.
"Experience shows that the effort that goes into advanced planning significantly improves the speed and quality of the recovery process," said ATIS president and CEO Susan Miller. "Considerations presented in this report can help to restore coverage more quickly whether the outage is caused by non-functioning individual cell sites or wide-spread damage to infrastructure."

3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, offers free online learning modules for all interested stakeholders.
The modules, designed for fabricators, processors, and regulatory sanitarians, offer information on the principles of hygienic design, hygienic equipment design, hygienic facility design and environmental controls, and cleaning and sanitizing. Instruction is self-paced and includes real-world visuals, diagrams, narrated slides, and interactive quizzes.
