TCIA App Connects Stakeholders and Provides News Updates in the Tree Care Industry
The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has created a new mobile application for all stakeholders involved in the tree care industry.

The app includes easy access to industry news updates and TCIA events, and supports messaging with other app users to facilitate communication among those in the industry. TCIA will continue to add new features in the coming months.

The Vision Council Website Shows Newest Eyewear Trends
The Vision Council, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has a website dedicated to fashion and lifestyle eyewear information called Eyecessorize.

Eyecessorize offers information on the latest styles in prescription eyewear and fashion sunglasses, explaining these popular trends: "Down to Earth," with outdoorsy colors in old-school squares, rectangles, and perfectly round shapes; "Global Perspective," with bright and neon colors in shapes from cat-eyes to aviators; "Moody Musings," with metallics like yellow and rose golds in futuristic-like shapes including wraparounds and oversized squares; and "Studious and Sultry," with neutral and classic colors in geek chic' shapes like ovals and softened rectangles.

AIPMM Webcasts to Explore Market Leadership, Project Management
The Association of International Product Marketing & Management (AIPMM), an ANSI member, will hold two free webcasts in the coming weeks.

"Become a Market Leader by Mastering Your Competitive Landscape" will introduce the 10 steps of competitive analysis, exploring how you can compete with others in the market by better understanding the common customer's needs, developing a product with the right features, and having a winning marketing campaign. It will be held on Friday, November 30 from 9:00-10:00am.

"Improving your Soft Skills to Become a More Phenomenal Product Manager" gives insight into how to become a more authoritative and influential product manager, with tips on improving communication and influence skills and establishing your own leadership brand. The webcast is scheduled for Friday, December 14 from 9:00-10:00am.

FOA Website Offers Fiber Optic Resources for STEM Teachers
The Fiber Optic Association (FOA), an ANSI member, has free fiber optic lesson plans available for STEM teachers.

The resources explain how teachers can demonstrate how fiber optics works, including a lesson using a sample of plastic fiber and a laser pointer. A YouTube video and written directions are provided to help instructors perfect their technique before presenting it to students.

Additional teaching materials available include:

- A video lecture series with over 40 lectures, including one that explains how fiber optics are used in communications

- A video about job opportunities in the field

- A PowerPoint presentation that teachers can give to classes, introducing the technology and career opportunities

- A lab manual for a college or advanced high school program
