People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has appointed Casandra D. Blassingame as its new CEO.

Ms. Blassingame has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, with a focus on continuing and professional studies. She previously served as vice president, education services for the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA), another ANSI member and accredited standards developer. There, she established AGMA's program as an IACET accredited program; increased their professional development offerings; launched workforce development initiatives; and was instrumental in establishing the AGMA National Training Center in Chicago, IL.

Ms. Blassingame has served as an IACET Commissioner and sat on its board of directors. She has also worked as an adjunct associate professor, and served other organizations in senior leadership capacities including founding director of continuing education, vice president of institutional advancement, director of education, and chief academic officer.

"The IACET Board has worked diligently to restructure the association to capitalize on the evolving trends in adult education and training," said IACET board chairman Andrew Kauser. "During the summer of 2019, we began a robust search to find, recruit, and hire a distinguished leader for IACET. Today we are happy to announce that Casandra Blassingame has accepted the position of CEO. Casandra's experience in adult education, continuing education, and training standards development, and detailed knowledge of IACET, make her the perfect leader. We are excited to work with Casandra to advance IACET's mission around the world."

The International Code Council (ICC), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has announced that Joan O'Neil is its new chief knowledge officer. In this position, Ms. O'Neil will help create an enterprise-wide digital strategy for ICC's products and services.

Ms. O'Neil comes to ICC with extensive leadership experience in professional learning and educational technology (EdTech) solution businesses. She was previously vice president of Skillsoft Corporation, an eLearning provider offering professional development to organizations. She has also served as an executive vice president for Wiley, leading the organization's development of strategies for digital learning and publishing. Ms. O'Neil was the recipient of the Wiley President's Award for performance and leadership.

"We are thrilled to welcome Joan to the Code Council family," said ICC chief executive officer Dominic Sims. "I am impressed by the experience and skills she brings to this executive position. With her help, we will continue to elevate our digital products and services to better serve our members and the building safety community."
