The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced that Cindy Squires is its new CEO. In this role, Squires will lead the organization’s team in driving industry growth and increasing value to its membership, sponsors, industry partners, and stakeholders.
Squires has extensive experience in association management, including strategic planning, public policy, and legislative affairs. Previously, she was executive director and CEO of the International Wood Products Association (IWPA). She also served as chief counsel of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), practiced environmental and administrative law in a private practice, and worked as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill and in a government agency. Squires is a cleared trade advisor to the U.S. Trade Representative and Secretary of Commerce, and serves on the boards of the American Hardwood Export Council, the Global Timber Forum, the North American Forest Foundation, and the American Boat and Yacht Council.

The International Code Council, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has appointed Richard Anderson as director of plumbing, mechanical, and fuel gas (PMG) resources in the government relations department. Anderson will work with the organization’s team of experts to develop, coordinate, and implement PMG programs and services related to the International Codes (I-Codes). He will also oversee the Code Council’s new Conservation & Water Reuse Center.
Anderson brings with him 23 years of building safety and PMG experience. Prior to joining the Code Council, he represented the city of Fort Collins as a chief building official, overseeing the enforcement of all building codes for the city.
“Building codes and standards create an ecosystem of building policies that ensure the safety of our buildings and safeguard the health and wellbeing of building occupants,” said Dominic Sims, Code Council CEO. “As topics like water and energy efficiency become greater concerns for communities, we understand the importance of having a proven leader like Anderson join our team to provide his expertise and insights as a knowledgeable voice in this space.”
