People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is pleased to announce that Cleo Manuel Stamatos has joined the Institute as ANSI’s consumer and legislative outreach manager.
With an extensive background in consumer outreach, public affairs, and legislative activities, Ms. Stamatos will work to expand and amplify ANSI’s consumer involvement, while also supporting ANSI’s government relations outreach, reporting to Mary Saunders, ANSI’s VP of government relations.
Much of her professional career has been devoted to consumer affairs. Her first job in Washington, DC, was working for Ralph Nader’s Public Citizen. After that, she moved on to working with Linda Golodner, spending almost 10 years at the National Consumers League, where she currently serves on the Board of Directors. Other career highlights include the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition, the Maryland Governor’s Office for Children, Youth and Families, and working as a consultant with a range of clients, including AARP Maryland.
Ms. Stamatos has established close connections with a variety of state, non-profit, and corporate entities with consumer interests, and will help to broaden ANSI's visibility in the consumer space.
