The Building Industry Consulting Service International (BISCI), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced that John H. Daniels is its new executive director and CEO. He assumed this role on January 1.

Prior to joining BISCI, Mr. Daniels was global vice president in the analytics department of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), a membership organization with more than 80,000 members and 650 corporate organizations. Mr. Daniels provided global strategic leadership to many of the organization's initiatives, with notable success in building and guiding teams that drove organizational growth and engagement. He also served as chief information officer for Evolvent Technologies, and spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force.

"BICSI and the ICT Industry is approaching a time of growth and opportunity," said BICSI president-elect Todd Taylor. "With these changes, it is important that BICSI continues to increase its foothold as the leader in education and certification while keeping a strong focus on increasing membership value. Daniels brings a depth of knowledge and practical experience that will help take BICSI to the next level as well as broaden its partnerships with other associations. His international experience will help expand BICSI's strong position in the global market, and I have confidence that he will lead us to success!"

Previously, Ms. Lynn was senior director for product communications for the American Chemistry Council (ACC), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, where she served as a senior advisor, strategist, and spokesperson. She has also been an aide to U.S. Representative Mac Thornberry, working as his communications director and later as the spokesperson and director of member initiatives for the House Committee on Armed Services. Prior to that, she was a spokesperson and strategic communications advisor for the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration and the Office of Governor Luis G. Fortuno. Additionally, she led U.S. Representative Michael Burgess's communications efforts, and was a speechwriter for the U.S. Secretary of Transportation.

"Our industry has contributed to society in countless ways and will continue to shape our future with new and innovative technologies," said AIA president and CEO Eric Fanning. "Alison's communications expertise, national security knowledge, and Hill chops will be invaluable as we continue to tell the compelling stories of our industry and build on a standout centennial year."
