Save the Date: July 13 America Makes & ANSI Virtual Event

6/18/2021
Feedstock Materials for Additive Manufacturing

On July 13, America Makes and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will host a virtual event, The Current and Future Landscape for Additive Manufacturing (AM) Feedstock/Precursor Materials Standardization. This is the latest in a series of events hosted by the America Makes and ANSI Additive Manufacturing Standardization Collaborative (AMSC) to further develop and refine the AMSC Standardization Roadmap for Additive Manufacturing, last published in June 2018. The program will include presentations and a panel discussion on the attributes of AM feedstock/precursor materials that lend themselves to standardization, and what is happening or needs to happen in terms of standardization of metals, polymers, ceramics, composites, and the like.

The AMSC was launched in March 2016 as a cross-sector coordinating body whose purpose is to accelerate the development of industry-wide AM standards and specifications consistent with stakeholder needs. Supported by industry, government, academia, and standards developing organizations (SDOs), the AMSC is tracking ongoing work by SDOs and research and development organizations to address the gaps identified in the roadmap. The goal is to continue to drive coordinated standards development activity that will help to grow the additive manufacturing industry.
