USTDA and ANSI to Resume Workshops under the U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Standards Program

Attend the Virtual Southern Africa Energy Storage Standards Workshop
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) are pleased to announce the remaining three workshops under the USTDA-funded U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Standards Program (CESP), starting with the "Southern Africa Energy Storage Standards Workshop” on October 20-21, 2021.
First launched in 2016, the CESP provides a platform for industry and government representatives from the U.S. and Sub-Saharan Africa to cooperate on standards-related issues in the clean energy space. These events further relationships necessary for technical exchange and commercial opportunities between the U.S. and African nations. The CESP also supports Power Africa’s objectives by promoting an enabling business and regulatory environment through capacity building for African governments and private sector entities to increase energy access across the continent. Nine workshops have been conducted so far under the CESP.
The October 20-21 "Southern Africa Energy Storage Standards Workshop” will bring together experts and participants to discuss the value proposition of energy storage, the regulatory structures surrounding it, and case studies on lithium-ion battery (Li-ion) and other battery technologies.
The final two CESP workshops are being finalized at this time. One will focus on mini-grid standards in Cote d’Ivoire; the topic of the final workshop will be determined in the coming months. Both workshops will take place before March 2022, with more details to come.
