ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 171-2017

Method of Testing for Rating Seismic and Wind Restraints

This proposed new standard provides static-test procedures for determining the capacity of seismic restraints for heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment. It applies to many types of seismic restraint devices, including cable restraints, combination isolator/restraints, seismic snubbers, and rigid bracing. This standard does not apply to seismic restraint devices made from non-ductile materials.
