C22.2 NO. 33-M1984 (R2014) - Construction and Test of Electric Cranes and Hoists

1. Scope

1.1 This Standard applies to all types of electric cranes, hoists, and monorails for voltages of 750 V and less between conductors, designed to be installed and used in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

1.2 This Standard includes the design of the collector arrangements for the contact conductors along the main runway. Note: The installation requirements for the main collector conductors are covered in the latest edition of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

1.3 This Standard applies to equipment for general industrial and commercial application, in nonhazardous locations, both indoors and outdoors.

1.4 This Standard covers equipment for installation in a normal ambient temperature not exceeding 40°C.
