ANSI/SAIA A92.24 – 2018

Training Requirements for the Use, Operation, Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)

Scope: This standard provides methods and guidelines to prepare MEWP training materials, defines administrative criteria, and delivers elements required for proper training and familiarization.  It applies to all types and sizes of MEWPs defined in ANSI/SAIA A92.20 (design, calculations, safety requirements and test methods) that are intended to position personnel, along with their necessary tools and materials, at work locations.

Safe Use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)

Scope: This American National Standard specifies requirements for application, inspection, training, maintenance, repair and safe operation of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (hereafter known as MEWPs).  It applies to all types and sizes of MEWPs as specified in ANSI/SAIA A92.20 (design, calculations, safety requirements and test methods) that are intended to position personnel, along with their necessary tools and materials, at work locations.

Design, Calculations, Safety Requirements and Test Methods for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)

Scope: This American National Standard specifies safety requirements and preventive measures, and the means for their verification, for certain types and sizes of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) intended to position personnel, along with their necessary tools and materials, at work locations. It contains the structural design calculations and stability criteria, construction, safety examinations and tests that shall be applied before a MEWP is first put into service.


ANSI/SAIA A92.6-2006 (R2014)

American National Standard for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms

This standard applies to manually propelled, integral chassis aerial platforms having a platform that cannot be positioned completely beyond the base and are used to position personnel, along with their necessary tools and materials, at work locations. Platforms are adjustable by manual or powered means and shall not be occupied when moved horizontally.


ANSI/SAIA A92.5-2006 (R2014)

American National Standard Boom-Supported Elevating Work Platforms

This standard applies to self-propelled integral chassis aerial platforms having a platform that can be positioned completely beyond the base and are used to position personnel, along with their necessary tools and materials, at work locations. Aerial platforms are power operated with primary functions, including drive, controlled from the platform. Such aerial platforms are intended to be occupied when driven.


ANSI/SAIA A92.3-2006 (R2014)

American National Standard for Manually Propelled Elevating Aerial Platforms

This standard applies to manually propelled, integral chassis aerial platforms having a platform that cannot be positioned completely beyond the base and are used to position personnel,along with their necessary tools and materials, at work locations. Platforms are adjustable by manual or powered means and shall not be occupied when moved horizontally. (See Figure 1 for examples.)

ANSI/SIA A92. Elevating and Vehicle Lift Devices Package includes ANSI/SAIA A92.2-2015, ANSI/SAIA A92.3-2006 (R2014), ANSI/SAIA A92.5-2006 (R2014), ANSI/SAIA A92.6-2006 (R2014), ANSI/SIA A92.8-2012 and ANSI/SAIA A92.10-2009 (R2014).

ANSI/SIA A92.8-2012

Vehicle-Mounted Bridge Inspection and Maintenance Devices

This standard applies to the establishment of criteria for design, manufacture, testing, inspection, installation, maintenance, use, training, and operation of vehicle-mounted aerial devices, primarily used to position personnel, installed on a chassis to achieve the following objectives: (1) Prevention of personal injuries and accidents. (2) Uniformity in ratings. (3) Understanding by manufacturers, dealers, brokers, installers, lessees, lessors, maintenance personnel, operators, owners, and users of their respective responsibilities.
