This Standard explains the role of code verification in ensuring the reliability of predictive computations. It provides the relevant definitions, methods, and theory. It also provides practical guidance and worked examples of code verification. The Standard specifies the requirements for carrying out code verification and for checking whether existing code verification covers the use of a code for a particular application. It is intended for code developers and users, their managers, and those who make decisions using simulation results, and it identifies the relevant roles and responsibilities of these groups. It is the first AIAA Standard on this topic.
