American National Standard for Information Technology - Biometric Profile - Interoperability and Data Interchange - DoD Implementations

This standard describes an infrastructure that supports a data collection system to capture biometric data from persons of military interest that may present a threat to national security. Persons of military interest include EPW, detained personnel, civilian internees, and other military detainees. Biometric data currently collected from Red force personnel includes fingerprints and facial images.
This standard specifies the conforming subsets or combinations of base standards that are used to provide specific functions. Profiles identify the use of particular options available in the base standards, and provide a basis for the development of uniform, internationally recognized, conformance tests.
