Ergonomics of the thermal environment - Instruments for measuring physical quantities (ISO 7726:1998)
This International Standard lays down the minimum requirements for instruments for measuring physical quantities to describe a thermal environment and methods for measuring the physical quantities of that environment. The purpose of the standard, on the other hand, is not to define a uniform index of comfort or thermal stress, but merely to standardise the method by which the data for the determination of such indices can be collected. Other International Standards describe in detail the procedures based on the data obtained with this standard. This International Standard serves as a reference in the development of a) specifications for manufacturers and users of instruments for measuring the physical quantities of the environment; (b) a written contract between two parties for the measurement of these quantities. It applies to the effect of hot, neutral, pleasant or cold environments on humans.
