The ANSI Board of Directors is a voluntary governance body that manages and controls the Institute's activities, property and affairs. The Board consists of senior level representatives from various elements of the Institute's membership: industry, government, trade associations, professional societies and academia. From among these representatives a chairman and vice-chairmen are elected. In practice, the Board members are directly involved in the governance of the Institute by their participation in one or more Board committees.
