Scope
1.1 This Standard applies to cord-connected, electrically heated warming pads with associated control units, for household and hospital use, to be used in nonhazardous locations, designed for nominal 120 V ac or dc circuits, in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.1.2 This Standard applies to general use electrically heated cushions incorporating one or more warming pads.
1.3 General use and waterproof warming pads of the following types are covered by this Standard: (a) single-heat, single-speed warming pads; (b) multi-heat warming pads; and (c) single-heat, multi-speed warming pads.
