Guidance on statistical techniques for ISO 9001:2000
This technical report provides guidance in selecting appropriate statistical techniques that can be used by an organization or company in connection with the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of a quality management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001. This has been done by examining the requirements in ISO 9001 where quantitative data is used, and in this connection identifying and describing the statistical techniques that can be useful to use with such data. The list of statistical techniques mentioned in this technical report is not exhaustive. Failure to appear on the list should not prevent the company from using techniques (statistical or otherwise) that it may deem appropriate. Furthermore, this technical report does not attempt to prescribe which statistical techniques should be used, nor does it attempt to advise on how these techniques should be used.
