Characterisation of waste - Leaching - Compliance test for leaching of granular waste materials and sludges - Part 3: Two stage batch test at a liquid to solid ratio of 2 l/kg and 8 l/kg for materials with high solid content and with particle size below 4 mm (without or with size reduction)
This part of the European Standard specifies a conformity study that provides information on the leaching of granular wastes and sludges under the experimental conditions mentioned below, and in particular at a liquid/solid ratio of 2 l/kg dry matter in a first step and then 8 l/kg dry matter in a second step. It applies to waste with a grain size of less than 4 mm without or with grain size reduction (as indicated in 4.3.2). This European Standard has been prepared to investigate mainly inorganic components of waste. It does not take into account the special properties of non-polar organic components or the consequences of microbiological processes in organic degradable waste.
