Welding and allied processes - Symbolic representation on drawings - Welded joints (ISO 2553:2019, Corrected version 2021-09)
This document determines the rules, which are to be applied in technical drawings for the symbolic representation of weld seams. The symbols can contain information about geometry, manufacture, quality and testing of the weld seams. The principles of this document can also be used for soft and hard-solved connections. The fact is taken into account that there are two different methods on the world market to mark the arrow side and the other side in drawings. In this document - Sections, tables and images with the suffix "A" apply only for the system in which a double reference line is used in the symbols - sections, tables and images with the suffix "B" only apply to the system, In which a simple reference line is used in the symbols, sections, tables and images apply to both display systems in which neither the suffix "A" nor the suffix "B" is given. The symbols specified in this document can be combined with other symbols used in technical drawings, e.g. B. to present requirements for the surface quality. An alternative designation procedure is described that can be used to use welding connections in drawings by determining the most important design information, e.g. B. to present seam dimensions, evaluation groups, etc. The preparation for welds and the welding process (e) are then determined by the manufacturer in such a way that the specified requirements are met.
