This Fourth Edition of the Standard for Plugs, Receptacles, and Couplers for Electric Vehicles, UL 2251, is being issued to incorporate the following: - Revised Product Designations - Clarification of Scope and Products Not Covered by UL 2251 - Addition of New Definition for Grounding/Bonding Conductor - Clarification to Ratings and Required Designation of Ratings - Clarification of the Fused Devices Requirement - Clarification of Cable Requirements for the Impact Test - Revised Requirements for Metallic Enclosures - Revised Requirements for Pollution Degree - Revision to the Temperature Rise Test - New Requirements for Device Configurations in Relation to Pin Lengths and Speed of Disconnection - Reinstatement of the Overload Test Conditions for Connectors Not Intended for Current Interruption - Revision to Address the Environmental Rating of Internal Parts - Removal of National Differences for Canada The new/revised requirements are substantially in accordance with Proposal(s) on this subject dated March 10, 2017 and September 15, 2017.
