ANSI/NETA ATS-2017

Standard for Acceptance Testing Specifications for Electrical Power Equipment and Systems

It is the purpose of these specifications to assure that tested electrical equipment and systems are operational, are within applicable standards and manufacturer's tolerances, and are installed in accordance with design specifications. These specifications cover the suggested field tests and inspections that are available to assess the suitability for initial energization and final acceptance of electrical power equipment and systems.  NETA has developed the ANSI/NETA ATS to assist in the pre-energization inspection and startup of power equipment and systems. Electrical testing firms, architects, engineers, equipment owners, inspection authorities, and others should reference this document when inspecting power equipment after it is installed in the field. This type of testing identifies any damage that occurred during shipping, checks to assure that installation occurred in accordance with designs, and that all components are connected and function as part of a system as well as individually.  Acceptance tests are not manufacturers' factory tests. They comprise those tests necessary to determine that the electrical equipment has been selected in accordance with the engineer's requirements, installed in accordance with applicable codes and installation standards, and perform in accordance with their design and setting parameters. The ANSI/NETA Standard for Acceptance Testing Specifications for Electrical Power Equipment and Systems assists designers, specifiers, architects, and users of electrical equipment and systems in specifying required tests on newly-installed power systems and apparatus, before energizing, to ensure that the installation and equipment comply with specifications and intended use as well as with regulatory and safety requirements.


ANSI/NETA MTS-2015

Standard for Maintenance Testing Specifications for Electrical Power Equipment and Systems

These specifications cover the suggested field tests and inspections that are available to assess the suitability for continued service and reliability of electrical power distribution equipment and systems. The purpose of these specifications is to assure that tested electrical equipment and systems are operational, are within applicable standards and manufacturerÆs tolerances, and are suitable for continued service. The work specified in these specifications may involve hazardous voltages, materials, operations, and equipment. These specifications do not purport to address all of the safety problems associated with their use. It is the responsibility of the user to review all applicable regulatory limitations prior to the use of these specifications.


ANSI/NETA ECS-2015

Standard for Electrical Commissioning of Electrical Power Equipment and Systems

These specifications describe the systematic process of documenting, and placing into service newlyûinstalled, or retrofitted electrical power equipment and systems. This document shall be used in conjunction with the most recent edition of the ANSI/NETA Standard for Acceptance Testing Specifications for Electrical Power Equipment and Systems (ANSI/NETA ATS). The individual electrical components shall be subjected to factory and field tests, as required, to validate the individual components. The purpose of these specifications is to assure that tested electrical systems are safe, reliable, and operational, are in conformance with applicable standards and manufacturersÆ tolerances, and are installed in accordance with design specifications. The work specified in these specifications may involve hazardous voltages, materials, operations, and equipment. These specifications do not purport to address all of the safety issues associated with their use. It is the responsibility of the user to review all applicable regulatory requirements prior to the use of these specifications. These specifications are specifically intended for application on electrical power equipment and systems. It is not the intent of these specifications to provide comprehensive details on the commissioning of mechanical equipment, mechanical instrumentation systems, and related components.

Standard for Acceptance Testing Specifications for Electrical Power Equipment and Systems

It is the purpose of these specifications to assure that tested electrical equipment and systems are operational, are within applicable standards and manufacturer's tolerances, and are installed in accordance with design specifications. These specifications cover the suggested field tests and inspections that are available to assess the suitability for initial energization and final acceptance of electrical power equipment and systems.

Standard for Certification of Electrical Testing Technicians

This standard establishes minimum requirements for qualification and certification of the electrical testing technician (ETT). This standard details the minimum training and experience requirements for electrical testing technicians and provides criteria for documenting qualifications and certification. This standard details the minimum qualifications for an independent and impartial certifying body to certify electrical testing technicians.
