Cement-Mortar Lining for Ductile Iron Pipe and Fittings

The purpose of this standard is to provide the minimum requirements for shop-applied cement–mortar linings for ductile-iron pipe and ductile-iron and gray-iron fittings for potable water, raw water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems, including requirements for cement, sand, water, and mortar; surface of pipe and fittings for lining; method and thickness of lining; and curing.

This standard describes 3-in. through 64-in. (80-mm through 1,600-mm) flanged ductile-iron pipe with ductile-iron or gray-iron threaded flanges for potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water service. Flanged pipe and flanges are rated for a maximum working pressure of 250 psi (1,720 kPa). However, 24-in. (600-mm) and smaller flange joints with ductile-iron flanges may be rated for a maximum working pressure of 350 psi (2,413 kPa).

Ductile-Iron Compact Fittings

This standard describes 3-in. through 64-in. (80-mm through 1,600-mm) ductile-iron compact fittings to be used with ductile-iron pipe or pipe made of other materials with similar outside diameters for conveying potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water. Fittings with mechanical joints are listed in this standard for the 3-in. through 64-in. (80-mm through 1,600-mm) sizes. Fittings with push-on joints and flanged joints are listed in this standard for the 54-in. through 64-in. (1,400-mm through 1,600-mm) sizes.
