New York Building Code

The International Code Council has also published state specific codes for New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and Seattle. These state specific codes come with packages for ease of purchasing. These are the standards related to the New York code.

The New York Building Code Package supplies the building code requirements applicable in the state of New York for the design and installation of safe building systems. Plumbing, residential, mechanical and rehabilitation for existing building codes are also included in this package. The following codes from 2000 are inside the package: ICC NY-IBC-2000, ICC NY-IECC-2000, ICC NY-IFC-2000, ICC NY-IFGC-2000, ICC NY-IMC-2000, ICC NY-IPC-2000, ICC NY-IPMC-2000 and ICC NY-IRC-2000.

Building Code of New York State, 2000

The Building Code of New York State combines language from the 2000 International Building Code, 2001 Supplement to the International Building Code, and New York modifications developed by the State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council and its Building Code Technical Subcommittee. In addition, administrative modifications to the 2000 International Building Code were developed by the Department of State’s Administrative Task Group.

Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State, 2000

The Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State combines language from the 2000 International Energy Conservation Code, 2001 Supplement to the International Energy Conservation Code, and NewYork modifications developed by the State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council and its Energy Code Technical Subcommittee. In addition, administrative modifications to the 2000 International Energy Conservation Code were developed by the Department of State's Administrative Task Group.

Property Maintenance Code of New York State, 2000

Based on the 2000 International Property Maintenance Code and 2001 Supplement to the International Codes, this publication addresses the need in communities for a modern, up-to-date property maintenance code that governs the maintenance of existing buildings. Included are clear and specific property maintenance requirements that regulate interior and exterior building facilities. Provisions of this code apply to existing residential and nonresidential structures and their premises. Provides requirements for continued use and maintenance of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire-protection systems.


ICC NY-IRC-2000

Residential Code of New York State, 2000

Based on the 2000 International Residential Code and 2001 Supplement to the International Codes, this publication has been updated to reflect the latest technological advances in building design and construction and is a companion to the Building Code. Among the technical changes are new provisions for prescriptive steel framing and energy criteria. This code also contains plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas provisions that coordinate with the Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code and Fuel Gas Code.
