The 2003 International Building Code: City of Seattle is based on the 2003 International Building Code (IBC). The provisions of this code shall apply to the construction, alteration, moving, demolition, repair and occupancy of any build ing or struc ture within the City, except public utility towers and poles, mechanical equipment not specifically regulated in this code, and hydraulic flood con trol structures.

Seattle Fire Code, 2003

The 2003 International Fire Code: City of Seattle is based on the 2003 International Fire Code (IFC). This code establishes regulations affecting or relating to structures, processes, premises, motor vehicles, marine vessels and safeguards regarding: 1. The hazard of fire and explosion arising from the storage, handling or use of structures, materials or devices; 2. Conditions hazardous to life, property or public welfare in the occupancy of structures or premises; 3. Fire hazards in the structure or on the premises from occupancy or operation; 4. Matters related to the construction, extension, repair, alteration or removal of fire suppression or alarm systems.
