Other nut standards
This document defines the tolerances of form and position of metric nuts meant for aerospace construction. These tolerances comply with ISO 1101, ISO 2692 and ISO 5459.
This International Standard specifies the required characteristics for metric plain or slotted (castellated) nuts, with MJ threads according to ISO 5855-2, for use in aerospace construction. It is applicable to nuts as defined above, provided that reference is made to this International Standard in the relevant definition document.
This SAE Part Standard covers selected machine screw nuts manufactured in accordance with American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) dimensional standards. This document covers material most often used in ship systems and equipment but its use may be applied wherever fasteners of the covered materials are used. This document permits the fasteners to be identified and ordered by a part or identifying number (PIN) as defined in this document. The purpose of this document is to assist the designer and other personnel in providing requirements and PINS for the most commonly used machine screw nuts. A PIN is normally required for all military applications and provides a useful means of communicating fastener requirements to suppliers and manufacturers in a very succinct manner.
Included herein are complete general and dimensional specifications for metric and inch types of spring nuts recognized as SAE standard. These nuts are intended for general use where the engagement of a single thread on the mating screw is considered adequate for the application. It should be noted that spring nuts having other configurations, dimensions, provisions for ground, etc., are available and manufacturers should be consulted.
This procurement specification covers aircraft quality metric spanner nuts for retaining shaft mounted parts. Nuts are made from a corrosion and heat resistant age hardenable iron base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System at UNS S66286, and silver plated. Thread shear proof strength at room temperature is 450 MPa.
This standard covers the complete general and dimensional data for metric 12-spline flange nuts recognized as American National Standard.
This part of ISO 6305 defines the specifications regarding product quality and the conditions of acceptance for nuts and bolts. Gives manufacturing and acceptance conditions, data to be supplied by the purchaser and packaging. Annexes A to D contain progressive sampling plans.
To specify the approved method of flaring the shank of self-locking shank nuts, and to provide the preferred method for removal of damaged nut.
This aerospace recommended practice is applicable to the design of a reusable locking device for cylindrical nuts which are generally tightened with a spanner wrench. Nuts of this type are commonly used to pre-load, and/or position, anti-friction bearings.
The purpose of this Standard is to provide installation dimensions for shaft nuts and their companion keywasher. The Standard type typically shown on MS9951 and MS9952, but is also suitable for parts which are dimensionally equivalent.
To establish external dimensions for shafts requiring shallow grooves and internal dimensions for mating locking devices when used with parts dimensionally equivalent to Bearing Retaining Spanner Nuts, MS172236 thru MS172270.
