ANSI Represented at Trade Shows and Exhibitions

In an effort to reach out to ANSI’s members and constituents, the Institute will be participating at several trade shows and conventions in September. ANSI staff will be on hand to describe the Institute’s programs and services for the standards and conformity assessment community. The Institute invites trade show attendees to stop by the ANSI booth to find out more about how standards activities and the role of the Institute have enhanced cooperation among consumers, government and industry.

ANSI representatives are participating in the 38th Annual Engineering & Technical Management Conference of the Government Electronics & Information Technology Association (GEIA) in Biloxi, Mississippi, September 13-17, 2004. This conference will address key standards and initiatives in data and configuration management, next generation systems engineering, and related topics that are intended to enhance integration through the total lifecycle systems management (TLCSM) process. These efforts are achieved via joint collaboration of the GEIA G-47 Systems Engineering and G-33 Configuration/Data Management committees. The conference will include familiarization training in CM & DM, displays and vendors, and workshop-style interaction with subject matter experts in the above disciplines.

ANSI will be reaching out to its building safety constituents at the 2004 ICC Codes Forum September 26-29, 2004, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dubbed “An Education Conference,” the event features a comprehensive education program to develop code knowledge. Conference highlights include an Annual Business Meeting, International Code Council Expo, and the opportunity to network with peers in the building safety and fire prevention fields. All code officials, inspectors, fire service professionals, plan examiners, architects, engineers, builders, contractors, other construction industry professionals and anyone interested in building safety and fire prevention issues may attend.

A showcase of recent advances in technologies impacting the biometrics industry will begin on September 20, 2004, as the Biometric Consortium launches its annual three-day conference at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia. The event provides a forum to address issues in a variety of areas including: homeland security, law enforcement, identity theft and interoperability. ANSI is co-sponsoring the event, and will have staff on hand to discuss developments in biometric standards.
