ANSI Welcomes New Members

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), a private non-profit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system, proudly welcomes the eleven new members that joined the Federation during May 2003. The nine companies and two associations joined the Institute under a new market-based membership structure that ties investment directly to the level of service and involvement dictated by the specific and unique needs of each member.

The new members include:

Columbia Sportswear Company® manufactures and sells active outdoor apparel. As one of the largest outerwear brands manufacturers in the world and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States, the Company has developed an international reputation across an expanding product line for quality, performance, functionality and value.

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is a multi-discipline engineering firm that has been providing professional design, architecture, planning, and construction management services to the public and private sectors throughout the eastern United States.

Boston Scientific Corporation is the world's largest medical device company dedicated to less-invasive therapies. The Company's products and technologies are designed to reduce risk, trauma, cost, procedure time and the need for aftercare.

1394 Trade Association writes and promotes standards and compliance testing.

Mirant Corporation is one of the world's leading competitive energy providers with ownership or control of more than 21,000 megawatts (MW) of generating capacity, with approximately 1,100 MW under construction and more than 2,000 MW in planned development globally.

International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) is a non-profit association dedicated to quality continuing education and training programs. IACET certifies education providers that meet strict continuing education guidelines created in 1968. IACET's Criteria and Guidelines are the core of thousands of educational programs worldwide.

Ability Metal Company has served the telecommunications, aerospace, printing and many other industries for over 45 years. From laser cutting, CNC punching, precision forming, and CNC machining to certified welding, and prototype and CAD engineering services.

Kaba Limited produces locks and access control systems through subsidiaries worldwide.

Information Network Systems, Inc. (INS) – located in Arlington, VA, INS is a diversified professional services company under the SYTEX Group, Inc.
