AMCA 211-22 (Rev. 01-23)

Certified Ratings Program Product Rating Manual for Fan Air Performance

The Purpose and Scope of the AMCA 211-22 edition still apply to this version. The focus of the 2023 revision was to coordinate the AMCA CRP with the US DOE requirements. The changes were only made to Section 9.11, “Rating method N: Large-diameter ceiling fans,” the title of Section 20 and to Section 22, “Product Rating Requirements for Large-Diameter Ceiling Fans.”  Major changes include: 1. Adding the DOE definition of a large diameter ceiling fan. 2. Adding to the list of rating requirements: Number of available fan speeds, capability of reverse flow, and if fan speed controls are separate from lighting controls (if applicable). 3. Allowing ratings of standby power consumption to be conservative. 4. Added testing voltage requirements for LDCFs regulated by the US DOE and having polyphase electricity.  These changes could impact the certification process. They will become mandatory after board approval for all new certifications. LDCFs destined for the US Market and already certified must meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 430; 10 CFR Part 429; and Section 325(ff)(6) of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (42 U.S.C. 6295(ff)(6)) by February 13, 2023. All other LDCFs that are already certified will have three years to meet the new requirements, if needed.
