Recommended Practices for Geotechnical and Geophysical Investigations and Design - Wind Turbine Foundations
These Recommended Practices address offshore wind facilities installed in U.S. state and federal waters within the continental United States, Hawaii, and Alaska, including inland bodies of water such as the Great Lakes, in both freshwater and saltwater environments at any water depth. The document applies to all wind turbine generator (WTG) substructures and foundations, offshore substations, meteorological towers, and other offshore wind components in contact with the seafloor, including both fixed-bottom and floating structures. The Recommended Practices cover all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, construction, operation, decommissioning, and repowering.
