Nuclear Criticality Safety Based on Limiting and Controlling Moderators

"R" in the numeric designation signifies that the 1997 standard was reaffirmed (recertified) as an American National Standard in 2021. No changes can be made to a standard during reaffirmation.This standard applies to limiting and controlling moderators to achieve criticality safety in operations with fissile materials in a moderator control area. This standard does not apply to concentration control of fissile materials.
