Residential Inground Swimming Pools

This standard is intended to cover permanently installed residential swimming pools. A residential swimming pool shall be defined as any constructed pool, permanent or nonportable, that is intended for noncommercial use as a swimming pool by not more than (3) owner families and their guests and that is over twenty-four inches (24) in depth, has a surface area exceeding 250 square feet and/or a volume over 3,250 gallons. This standard is intended to cover certain aspects of the design, equipment, operation, installations, new construction and rehabilitation of residential swimming pools. This standard may be notwithstanding certain variations in equipment, materials and designs. This standard is not meant to cover public pools, aboveground/onground packaged pools and spas. Other standards are referenced in this standard for items not covered by this standard.
