Container Cranes
B30.24 includes provisions that apply to the construction, installation, operation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of container cranes used for lifting purposes in conjunction with equipment described in other volumes of the B30 Standard. This volume includes power-operated cranes of the above type whose power source is either self contained or provided externally, single, double, or box girder construction utilizing a trolley and a container handling spreader or other applicable lifting apparatus (cargo hook, cargo beam, magnet, etc.), and rail or rubber tire mounted with through-the-legs or between-the-legs operation.
