The Role of Measurement Uncertainty in Conformance Testing (An ASME Technical Report)

This Technical Report provides guidelines for setting gauging (or test) limits in support of accept/reject decisions in workpiece inspections, instrument verifications, and general conformance tests where uncertain numerical test results are compared with specified requirements. It is a guide to assist process and quality control engineers in specifying economically acceptable gauging limits for measurement results.
