This standard describes a DS3 network-to-customer installation metallic interface. Requirements on DS3 electrical parameters; basic framing format; M23 multiplex and C-Bit Parity applications; and physical signal characteristics are included or referenced. Compatibility information is also given, but the standard is not intended to be an equipment specification.
