Coal-Tar Protective Coatings and Linings for Steel Water Pipes

This standard provides minimum requirements for coal-tar protective coatings and linings used in the potable water supply industry for buried steel water pipelines. All AWWA steel pipe coating and lining standards are written for and based on the service temperature of potable water. For operating temperatures higher than the normal temperature of potable water, consult the manufacturer for recommendations concerning temperature limitations for coal-tar protective coatings and linings.
