Procedure for the Determination of Fibrinogen in Plasma; Approved Guideline-Second Edition
Prepared by subcommittee members who have extensive experience with the measurement of fibrinogen in plasma under all circumstances, with particular emphasis on fibrinogen determinations on patients undergoing thrombolytic therapy. It specifies the thrombin clotting rate assay of Clauss as a procedure of choice for the quantitative assay of fibrinogen. Emphasis is placed on production of a reference curve using at least five points. Sources of error, either analytical or biological, are identified
